The artist behind Sweet As...Cakes
is Kerrie Holmes

My cake decorating life started when my children were small and I wanted them to have 'special cakes' for their birthdays. This soon became a problem when other children at the parties complained to their parents that they wanted 'special cakes' for their birthdays! Needless to say I had a lot of frustrated mums asking me to do their kids cakes as well!

After attending several cake decorating courses I then started making Birthday, Engagement, Anniversary and Christening cakes for people which then led to designing Wedding Cakes.

Since then I have worked in several cake shops and patisseries including Queen of Tarts in Cessnock where I was employed for 2 years as their Wedding Cakes Decorator.

I have also in the last year attended several advanced TAFE courses in Restaurant Desserts and Chocolate Making including Gourmet Cakes, Ice Creams and Chocolate Sculptures.

So as you can see I have been designing & creating Wedding and Special Occasion Cakes for over 14 years.
